Throat Punch Thursday’s – Summer MTB Short Track (XCC) Training Race Series
This is a USA Cycling (USAC) Sanctioned Competitive Race Series
Throat Punch Thursday XCC Races are run as a heats organized by category and gender (Men & Women). Each heat is basically a race within a race and has its own starting time. Heats will go off in either mass start or in waves depending on the number of riders within each category.
Dedicated Women’s Race – TPT women have the course to themselves for their heats!
Short Track (STXC or XCC) races take place on a short course (<2km) where riders complete multiple laps in either a set time or set number of laps format with a race duration of 15-25 minutes depending on category. The winner is the person who finishes the most laps in the least amount of time.

- August 27th – XCC Race #3
- September 3rd – XCC Race #4
Throat Punch Thursday is electronically timed. Your bib plate is your RFID timing chip and should be mounted securely to your bars (top of plate) and the bottom of the plate should be mounted to cables, or in a way that makes the number clearly visible from the front of the bike.
Each racer will have two chances at fame. The first heat is an eliminator, where the top 3 racers from each category advance to the final race of the day – the Throat Punch. Where all category leaders are combined into one race for the final Gold.
There will be NO REGISTRATION ON RACE-DAY. Online pre-registration only.
