Storming Thunder Ridge – The John Bell Memorial Ride
Storming Thunder Ridge starts in Lynchburg and is a fund-raiser benefiting the YMCA of Central Virginia. With the Blue Ridge Mountains as your backdrop, there’s a ride for everyone: 27, 45, 48 (The Mountain Only), 75 and 100 mile options. This is a challenging ride in the Blue Ridge Mountains with a 12.6 mile climb of Thunder Ridge and several smaller climbs up to 9,000+ feet of climbing. Lots of food afterwards. Riders can use the YMCA amenities which include shower facilities, whirlpool, and swimming pool after the ride. Bring your own a towel and swimsuit.
Your registration helps fund the Community Support Campaign of the YMCA of Central Virginia. Included are cue sheets, fully stocked rest stops, SAG support and monitoring of riders along the course.
Camping options are available for Saturday night, May 17th (and Sunday night for outdoor camping).
