Shenandoah & the Virginias Bike Tour
The Shenandoah Tour, is focused on the mountains of Virginia, in and around the Shenandoah Valley and the Washington and Jefferson National Forests. We still visit the eastern portion of the state of West Virginia in and around the Snowshoe and The Potomac Highlands. All of West Virginia sits within the Appalachian range, therefore giving West Virginia the name the “Mountain State.” We will visit and reside nightly in the historic towns of Marlinton and Cass, WV, as well as Lexington, VA and Warm Springs, VA. There are some great small towns with art, upscale southern dining, Civil War history, equine centers, and wonderful adventure activities. Both of the Virginias have small towns with names ending with “Springs.” And yes, there are springs. Along with the springs come wonderful rock formations, caves, beautiful lush green farms and wildlife.
This tour is 32 – 90 miles daily and provides time to enjoy the water and experience the natural caves. If you wish to include this tour on your fall schedule, you should be able to catch some early autumn colors. There is never enough time on a cycling tour, so consider staying after a few extra days to take in the local attractions, experience excellent fly fishing or call some of our local riding buddies for extra time in the saddle.
Make flight arrangements in and out of Roanoke, VA. If driving in, meet at our starting hotel in Lexington, VA.
