Mountain Mama Road Bike Challenge
This is one of the most beautiful and challenging road events in Virginia. The Highland County annual event features 5 ride options suitable for different ability levels.
27 – miles 53 – miles 67 – miles 100 – miles
The 100 mile ride covers 2 States, 3 Counties, 9 mountains and 10,000 feet of climbing. Feel free to stick around afterwards for food and fun and treat yourself to a warm southern welcome.
Mountain Mama features 6 fully stocked rest stops which provide food and drink to fuel your ride every 15-20 miles along the routes. SAG volunteers provide support throughout the ride. Mountain Mama registration includes: a moisture wicking event tee shirt, pre-ride breakfast, and post-ride meal.
On-Site Camping
Free on-site camping is available in the field adjacent to the pool parking lot. The entrance is located on Rt. 220, signs and volunteer staff will be in place to help you find a camp site. Camping is not permitted on the ballfields.
Please move your car to the Highland County Public School’s parking lot after unloading.
Bathrooms and showers will be available 24 hours a day at the pool. You can also enjoy complimentary pool access all weekend. Pool hours will be from 12:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. on Friday and 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Complimentary WiFi is available at the pool.
