Boys 7-12: Saturday, June 25 – Sunday, June 26

Taking place on Miller School of Albemarle’s scenic 1600 acre campus which boasts over 16 miles of student-built trails, riders will be able to develop their cycling skills in a fun, supportive environment with some of the area’s top mountain bikers. The Youth Weekend Camp is geared towards beginner to lower-intermediate level riders and attendees will spend two days building their confidence on a bicycle while enjoying time with their peers. Specialized games and skills sessions will be led by local professionals, and all riders will have the opportunity to apply their new-found skills on some of Albemarle County’s best trails. The camp is open to girls and boys ages 7 to 12 who are interested in cycling and looking to learn more about the sport while having a great time on their bikes.

The individual weekends are dedicated to boys or girls. Parents are encouraged to stay and participate.

Start Time: 9:00 AM
Finish Time: 3:00 PM

Boys & Girls 8-13 – Travel Camp Days: Monday, June 21 – Friday, June 25 AND Monday, June 27 – Friday, July 1

For youth riders between the ages of 8 and 13 who have already attended the Youth Weekend Camps and are ready for the next step, as well as young, experienced riders who aren’t sure if they’re ready for the overnight Mountain Bike Camps filled with all-day epic rides. This Youth Devo Weekday Camp is intended for intermediate level riders who are ready to spend more time riding and applying their mountain bike skills to more technical trails. Not sure you are ready for this camp? We suggest attending the Youth Devo Weekend Camp to brush up on your skills and see how you feel.

Over the course of the week, campers will have the opportunity to experience more of the amazing trails in the Charlottesville area. These will include, but are not limited to:

  • Advanced trails and skills-park features at Miller School of Albemarle
  • Preddy Creek
  • Walnut Creek

After drop-off at Miller School of Albemarle each morning, instructors will lead a unique mountain bike skills drill, and then the trail riding begins! Depending on the day, this will either involve diving into the Miller School’s expansive network of campus trails and skills parks, or loading bikes into a dedicated cycling trailer and driving Miller School’s buses to an area trailhead. After lunch each day, there will be more time for riding, as well as swimming and even some trail-building. There is a certified Athletic Trainer and Life Guard in attendance for every ride and water-based activity.

We do provide simple lunch foods such as peanut butter and jelly, fruit, chips, and drinks, but encourage campers to bring their own lunches if they’d like something different. There are refrigerators and coolers available each morning to store lunches. We also provide plenty of fluids, ride food, and snacks.

Start Time: 9:00 AM
Finish Time: 3:00 PM
