Fast and the Fiorini Road Ride & The Hills and the Hollers Gravel Grinder

Located in the heart of Southwest Virginia, the Mount Rogers region offers a rugged landscape and deep cultural identity. Cycling through the peaks and valleys or on thick back country trails is a great way to experience our region’s natural mystique, rich local flavors, and unique mountain culture.

The FAST and the FIORINI (formerly know as the Big Pencil to Big Walker Charity Ride) is an annual bicycle charity road ride to end homelessness and ensure housing affordability. The event also offers two routes for gravel and mountain bike enthusiasts. There is also a leisure, social ride for families, bodies of faith, school groups, and business teams to fight homelessness in Southwest Virginia.

Proceeds benefit HOPE, an umbrella human services organization delivering housing and anti-poverty programs to the southwest Virginia counties of Wythe, Bland, Carroll, Smyth and Grayson and the City of Galax.  The ride begins in downtown Wytheville at the iconic Wytheville Office Supply “Big Pencil” before heading out through the pastoral counties of Wythe and Bland.

This is a fully supported ride with rest stops with refreshments conveniently located to give legs and lungs a break.
