Get better faster
Clinics and camps are one of the best ways to improve. Many local tracks run their own programs, and traveling teams and pro riders visit tracks to teach everything from gate starts to cornering. Check the track links for dates and times.
How racing works
The sanctioning body for the United States is USA BMX, the largest in the world, with an estimated 60,000 members and more than 300 affiliated tracks in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. USA BMX keeps year-round points on each rider, runs a national racing series that typically goes from January 1 to December 15, and sets the rules of competition, including clothing requirements and classes.
Riders are placed in classes based on four things: age, gender, proficiency, and wheel size. Age classes run from under 5 to 50. There are two bike categories: 20″ bikes, called class bikes, and 24″ bikes, called cruiser bikes.
Ready to race?
Racing requires a USA BMX membership. Choose a one-day, 30-day, or annual membership (see the website for details).
