Tour de Scholar Charity Bike Ride
The Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce’s Education Foundation presents the Annual “Tour de Scholar”, which has three ride options – 20, 35 and 60 mile routes. All the funds raised from the Tour de Scholar will support the region’s Education Foundation’s Partnership-In-Excellence Grants program, awarding teachers up to $500 for engaging business and creativity in the classroom.
This is a fully supported ride with SAG support, road markings, and rest stops on all routes. Enjoy the rolling hills, scenic mountains, and camaraderie on the back roads of Henry and Pittsylvania Counties (35 and 60 mile routes). Experienced riders on the road required on the 35 and 60 mile routes. These routes are sure to satisfy whether you have ridden them before, or this is your first time! If a shorter route is more your style, our 20-mile route follows the beautiful Dick & Willie trail, detours through Uptown Martinsville, and winds through one of the area’s most picturesque neighborhoods.
Come and experience cycling in Southside Virginia!
Day of registration begins at 8:00 am and riders will take off at 9:00 am. The ride will start and finish at the Smith River Sports Complex. All routes will be marked and supported with sag and rest stops. Meal provided at the conclusion of the ride. Participants will be eligible for great door prizes.
