The Best of Southwest Virginia (Bike Tour)

During this week-long journey, we will ride several of the best places in Southwestern Virginia. Burke’s Garden in Tazewell, VA aka “God’s Thumbprint” is our newly featured location. Burke’s Garden is the highest valley in the State of Virginia. From an aerial view, the garden looks like green thumbprint in a massive bowl due to the mountain collapsing in on itself over time. Burke’s Garden is home to about 300 residents mostly inhabited by Amish farmers. It is somewhat isolated as it is located on the top of the mountain. Because it sits at 3,074′ above sea level, the temperature is perfect in the summer.
