Stokesville Gravel Little Switzerland (PRE-RIDE)

This event passes through the George Washington National Forest along the North River at the edge of the Little River Roadless area on one side and Ramsey’s Draft Wilderness Area on the other. After passing over the lowest gap on the mightily Shenandoah Mountain the route turns up into the back roads of Highland County known as “Little Switzerland”.

The Little Switzerland gravel loop is a lollipop loop, which makes it perfect to preside the first 16 miles and the last 16 miles. These are the most crucial because you’ll get an idea of the climb up and over Shenandoah Mountain on the way out. Then as we rip back down you will get a feel for speed, potholes, and danger zones on the way back to the campground.

Everyone will meet at the Stokesville Campground entry at 9:30am and roll at 10am as a big group into the George Washington National Forest.

Bring your own food and water. Plan on 3hrs, though it may be shorter. Bring, tubes, inflation, and mutli tool.
