Jeremiah Bishop’s Alpine Loop Gran Fondo
Named one of “America’s Top-10 Gran Fondos” by Men’s Journal, the Alpine Loop Gran Fondo is an event to welcome cyclists and spectators to Harrisonburg, Virginia for an exciting weekend of special events, challenging rides, charity fundraising and festivities for the entire family. The route begins in Harrisonburg and there are five route options 36, 62, 78, 104 and 110 miles, featuring over 11,000 feet of climbing. While the Alpine Loop is a challenge, it’s an adventure suitable for VERY fit cycling enthusiasts. You don’t need to be a racer to tackle these mountains! In fact, well prepared riders who set a brisk steady pace and take full advantage of the rest station amenities are sure to reach the finish line.
A significant portion of event entries will directly support key charities: Prostate Cancer Awareness Project, Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition, Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance and other many other local school, service and rescue organizations.
