Gravel Curious Gravel Weekend (Gravel Camp)

Come out to Fincastle, VA and Camp Bethel for the “Gravel Curious” weekend. The whole point of the weekend is to expose those new to gravel riding to the discipline and to field questions to help those just getting into gravel started on the right track with a the right perspective. This isn’t to say the weekend won’t be challenging, but the aim is to keep the average speed around 10-11 mph. There will be three (3) ride guides to help lead groups of different abilities.  This is not a drop ride, as there will be regrouping – No one will be left behind!

There will be an aid station at mile marker 13.5 on day 1 and 18.6 on day 1 where you will be able to regroup, make adjustments, and most importantly refuel with water and snacks.

Saturday – Day 1 (26 miles) includes the Day Creek Gravel Loop, it’s got a mix of everything; chunk, paved, and smooth gravel. (Strava Link)

Sunday – Day 2 (30 miles) includes the Salt Pond Road climb is a chunky monkey and the Black Horse Gap climb is a bear but the descent back to the start is ripping and fun. (Strava Link)

Just because the routes are shorter doesn’t mean you aren’t experiencing seeing the good stuff! — The Wiggles, Bobblets Gap, Pike Road – it’s some of the best gravel .

POST RIDE – After each day there will be a debrief over a nutritiously prepared meal, which includes chat about skills, pre/during/post ride nutrition, what do to if you are interested in more gravel. More importantly, they  are going to bust out the grill, make some tacos, and sit around and just hangout. Bring a camp chair. There will be a cooler with some select bubblies from in town.
