Cycling the Fields of Gold – (Great Date & Family Ride)
Meet at Rockbridge Vineyards & Brewery—one of several Fields of Gold Farm Trail sites in Rockbridge County—for a leisurely bike ride followed by live music! Helmets required – Come and explore pastoral landscapes, quaint villages, historic sites and local farms from your bike! All skill levels are welcome to participate—especially beginners and first-timers!
13-MILE LOOP | Mid-level | Rolling start 10am-12pm
This loop is a marked, self-guided, mid-level loop on paved roads with stops at 3 Fields of Gold sites:
1. Wades Mill: Virginia’s oldest continuously operating commercial grist mill
2. Verdant Acres Farm: Family-owned farmstead focused on regenerative farming
3. Mountain View Creamery: Family-owned dairy farm and farmstead cheese making operation
Pick up locally grown and produced items from their farm stores to bring back to the vineyard for a picnic! Purchased items can be delivered to the winery for a pick-up after your ride.
5-MILE GROUP RIDE | Beginner | 12:30pm
This is a marked, guided, family-friendly group ride on paved roads suitable for beginners.
There will be an educational “safe road riding” session prior to ride.
This route could also be a self-guided ride.
MUSIC & FOOD| Uncorked! with Jimmy O | 1-4pm
Listen to classics from the 50s to the 90s while enjoying self-guided flights of wine or beer, pints, or wine by the glass or bottle. The Intuition Kitchen food truck will be on-site
