Cardinal Gravel Camp – Floyd, VA
Come out to Floyd County, VA for weekend of gravel, fun, and friends! This is not a race—just a fun supported ride.
There will be aid stations on course, and the short and medium routes will be marked. Riders taking on the Grande Traverse will need a GPS and be able to self-navigate—this route will not be fully marked.
The Scene: We will have post-ride music from LowBrow Collective, and the Driftwood Catering food truck will be onsite for post ride food.
Floyd Piccolo Ramble: This is a beginner-friendly gravel route, but gravel is inherently challenging and so is this route. Riders should be comfortable with rides of at least 2.5 hours with some climbing. Riders who are not quite at that level should consider joining Cardinal Bicycle’s Tuesday night ride to prepare or come to Gravel Camp Bedford for a shorter route to get started. This Floyd route is almost entirely unpaved and will have one aid station.
Floyd Medio Mountain Wander: This route travels through scenic rolling farmland. Some of the climbs can get steep, but the route is fun and flows well. This ride is mostly gravel, and it will have one aid stations.
Floyd Grande Traverse: Route coming soon! Expect about 50-60 miles of Floyd’s finest gravel (it’s all pretty fine in Floyd). Riders taking on this route should crave adventure, and also be self-sufficient. As such, the route will not be fully marked. Riders must have GPS and be able to self-navigate. This route will have two aid stations.
