Bryce Queen of the Mountain
Located in the heart of beautiful Virginia mountains, Bryce resort is the host venue for this all women’s event. This is a celebration of skills triumphing over doubts and shred winning over dread.
Enjoy bettering your mountain bike skills through practice with professional and experienced female instructors. There will be a favorable coach to student ratio that allows for individual attention and specific instruction. Sunday is a full day of instruction and riding at Bryce Bike Park. This year’s certified instructors are Sue Haywood, Kelly Hazlegrove and Hillary Marques.
Full face helmet and pads are required. A downhill bike is not required. Flat pedals are recommended as well as is a dropper post or low saddle height. A light, delicious lunch is provided as well as refreshing beverages throughout the day.
There are four levels to choose from: Level 1: beginners and first time bike park riders. Learn right and stoke your riding fire. Level 2A is for a strong intermediate rider who has solid foundational skills and experience from frequent bike park visits or is a hard charging intermediate. Level 2B intermediate riders are those seeking to challenge their mountain biking and are hungry for progression with cornering and drops but at a more laid back pace or have a bit more trepidation. Level 3 is the most advanced group. This group will work on the mechanics of sound and safe jumping. This is a great opportunity to learn from certified ICP Level 3 coach, Kelly Hazlegrove, about progressing your jumping skills and finding your wings. A prerequisite is a previous skills clinic or approval from Kelly. A working knowledge of preload and lifts is helpful.
