Boundary Stone Ride
Are you a history buff? Biking enthusiast? Regular old adventure seeker?
Whatever the case, come for a bike ride around the oldest federal monuments – the District of Columbia boundary stones: http://www.boundarystones.org/ You can ride 1, 2, 3 or all 4 sides of the DC perimeter (if you do the whole ride, it’s about 60 miles). Similar to last year, we will start the ride at the South Stone. Here’s the route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/17131594
As always, the ride will be sponsored by Boundary Stone DC. Again this year is a charity component with all ride proceeds benefiting Phoenix Bikes, Gearin’ Up Bicycles, and now also VeloCity Bicycle Co-op and Bikes for the World, your four local nonprofit bike programs.
Stay tuned for more info about other sponsors and exciting new additions to this event, including details about the after party at Boundary Stone DC!
NOTE: This is an unsupported ride. However, rest stops will be set up at the South Stone/Start (courtesy of VeloCity), at the West Stone (courtesy of Phoenix Bikes), near the North Stone (courtesy of Bikes for the World), and near the East Stone (courtesy of Gearin’ Up Bicycles).
