Benge’s Revenge Challenge
The 19th annual Benge’s Revenge Challenge bike race is a non-sanctioned USA Cycling event, which travels through the beautiful countryside of Lee and Wise counties and will take you through coal towns more than 100 years old. Ride options include a 25 or 75-mile loop beginning in the City of Norton. For riders participating in the 75 mile ride, the final climb up High Knob Mountain to Norton’s famous Flag Rock has an average grade of 11% and spikes up to 20%, its not called High Knob for nothing! There will be three rest stops with plenty of drinks and snacks and a SAG wagon. Results will be timed and awards will be presented to the top five men and the top three women with the best time. Post race meal and awards at the new Sugar Hill Cydery in downtown Norton.
Showers and bathrooms will be available at J.I. Burton High School and Flag Rock Recreational Area. See Benge’s Revenge-Tour Guide.
Added in-race premiums for both the full and short course (to be described at race start). The overall times for each race will be taken and prizes will be awarded to top 3 male and female finishers.
