XXC & XCM Format Races: Extreme Cross Country (XXC) and Cross Country Marathon (XCM) format races are similar to an XC race, but run on either a longer course or run on an XC course and timed. Typical set distance races are over 40 miles and can be 100K or 100 Miles. The timed races are typically 4 or more hours. Solo competitors or relay teams will start in waves by category. Fastest time to complete course (100K/100 mile variety) or most laps/fastest time (4+ hour variety) wins. For timed races, some require riders to finish ALL laps within the 4-hour time limit. RVA Racing events allows riders to initiate their last lap BEFORE the 4-hour time limit.
