Bay to Ocean Tour – Virginia’s Eastern Shore
The Eastern Shore of Virginia a truly unforgettable experience. With its abundance of wild life and beautiful sunsets, it’s no wonder why the locals are so relaxed. You’ll be staying in B&Bs in Cape Charles, Onancock, and Chincoteague for two nights each to explore all the region has to offer. Biking alongside seabirds near the Chesapeake Bay or enjoying a cozy evening watching the sunset light up the sky as we wind down another day – no matter what you’re in search of, this area is sure to provide an excellent adventure.
No tour of the Eastern Shore is complete without seeing the wild ponies of Chincoteague, made famous in 1947 by Marguerite Henry’s “Misty of Chincoteague”. You will bike through the Assateague Island National Wildlife Refuge, where they have the famous Pony Swim each July, and finish the day with a sunset cruise to ensure you see the wild ponies.
